Driving

Hello all!

I know I have not written in like forever and a day but I just wanted to give you an update or share a new experience that I’ve had. If you haven’t guessed by now from the title it is DRIVING!!

For those that didn’t know I am from the Bronx in NYC also known as a place where having a car is sort of idiotic and pointless…you can get almost everywhere by foot, train, or bus….so recently I have a job that has required me to have a license and own a car.

I have been working on this goal since about May of 2011 and as of January 2012 I have accomplished both tasks. I finally passed my NYC driving test (a very difficult test…had to take it twice) at the end of November and as of this past January I became a car owner to this lovely 2 door Yellow Ford that goes by the name of Woodstock Bumble-Bee Gore!  He is adorable with his Pink Butterfly tattoo!!

Anyway I have driven on a few local highways and hope to continue to broaden my driving distances as time goes on and let me tell you that driving is exciting, freeing, amazing, makes you nervous, scary at times but overall exhilarating!

I plan to continue to do this wonderful act throughout my life and feel that everyone, NYC resident or not, should have and learn this life skill.

If you are reading this post I would just like to say thank you to all the people that have helped me on this journey that has led me to a licensed vehicle owner and me and Woodstock could not be happier.
