So in thinking about this blog and my niche I am still working on narrowing that down. However, I do have a blog with very few posts on it at the moment about a specific part of my world: Reslife or residence life for those not familiar with the slang.

So for the past decade I have been in working in residence life in some capacity: as an undergraduate, graduate student, intern, and now a professional.

I loved the idea of helping people as they progress through college and go after what they set out to do aka their dreams. When I was applying to graduate school to get my degree in College Students Affairs (the area in which residence life lives)  had a plan to support and encourage my students to go after their dreams while pursuing mine.

That’s funny, it sounds like my mission statement, which I didn’t make until a couple of years after graduate school…some things are just true to our core, I guess.

Well, that is a great idea and mission, if I say so myself, but somewhere along the line…I lost sight of that. I stopped pursuing dreams of my own…I still supported others and gave myself over to the work but I had started to lose what gave me my passion and energy to continue…the big dream(s) I’ve had.

The starting of this blog is the beginning of me going after those dreams and trying to pursue that but it would be wrong of me to not share or highlight my life in residence life as it has shaped most of my adult life.
