Satisfied

I am not sure if you’ve seen the musical Hamilton yet, but I definitely would recommend at least listening to the album from start to finish…it’s amazing! I’ve yet to see the show and only heard the music but the song that hooked me is Satisfied.

Please take a moment (~5minutes) to listen to the song below.

For more fun visual views of the song check out Youtube and search some of the animations that have been done with this song.

If you hear the song it is kind of has a sad twist with this feeling of never being satisfied. For some reason, I played this song on repeat for at least two to three weeks straight after listening to it and it still tugs at my heart when I hear it now. However I think I finally got the point or at least this is how I choose to interpret the song.

To be satisfied, one has met or fulfilled their expectations and are done. In listening to the entire soundtrack Hamilton had a hunger about him. I would call that hunger ambition and passion. When you have that kind of hunger, you are constantly going towards something and working for that next dream, new venture or process. It is what pushes a person forward.

I think you can still find joy and love but the lack of satisfaction or accepting the status quo allows you to continue to grow and change the world around you (hopefully for the better)!

Hoping that all my readers dealing with little to no satisfaction use it as a motivator versus being saddened by it.

Until next time,

I’m Ciggy!
