4 Things that Get Me through the Journey

The dreamer’s journey and well the journey of life is not an easy one. There are many roadblocks, detours, and unpaved roads along the way that can easily throw one for a loop. I wish I could tell you that none of it bothers me or I don’t react to it but that would be a complete and utter lie.

So here are a few things that I use to make it through this journey of life as I work to accomplish and tackle my many, many dreams.

1. First and foremost, God!

I am a Christian and proud of it. My faith is something that truly anchors me and I would be lost without it. Time and time again, I find myself trying to do something on my own accord without going to God first and that just never works for me. Though I have been a Christian and saved since I was 7…I am constantly growing and working to improve my relationship with God and ensuring that wherever I go, it is where He has called me to be.

2. My People

Continuing on the note above, I have been so very blessed to have met some amazing people in my life. Some are family by blood and marriage, some are family just through love, and some are just amazing friends and even acquaintences that God has strategically put in my life at just the right time. These people encourage me, love me, correct me, and support me. Without this group of wonderful folks I honestly would not be able to make it through!

3. Favorite Hobbies

I have many hobbies but probably the top 2 sure to help me through a rickety road would be that of listening/singing/dancing to music – yes that all counts as one, and journaling. Music speaks to the sole and can reflect what mood you are in and has the power to bring you to different places and times. It is truly a wonderful art. I am pretty positive I received my first journal when I was 13 from a great friend. It was a pink Tweety bird journal with a lock, though I rarely used the lock, and it opened up a world of release and freedom to me. Probably no surprise that I love to write and I’m a blogger now.

4. Inspiring and Informative Social Media

Social Media gets a bad rep these days which I understand but at the same time it has some wonderful perks. These two subscription services that I subscribe to: Shine and the Skimm truly help to uplift, inspire, and inform me in a way that’s tangeable, relatable, and quick to digest. It helps me to stay in the know and know that it’s ok to not be ok as long as I keep on keeping on.

So fellow dreamers, out there tell me what or who gets you through the journey? I’d love to know your journey helpers in the comments below and if you need a place to start, hopefully my 4 can be an inspiration to you!

Until next time,

I’m CiggyG
