Love Where You R
Tis the season of love dear dreamers! Yep…that means it is February and love is in the air…typically you think romance and partner love but love expands to much more beyond that…your family, friends, yourself, and I’m learning the space I am in right now. As a very big dreamer I tend to spend a lot of headspace in the future – the what will bes, you know, once you reach certain goals and dreams… However two thoughts and stories come to mind… The first is sometimes you don’t have to wait for this future date to come along and you can go after what you desire right now and…

New Year New City
Happy New Year Dreamers!! It’s official we are in 2022! And I am in a new city! Instead of New Year, New Me, it’s New Year New City. I am in Atlanta, GA!! I’ve never been here before but being here feels strangely natural like I was supposed to be here. I am so excited to have done this faith jump and see what God is having me to do here and just obey. As y’all know I’m a big dreamer and I really feel like all the work I’ve been doing so far has been leading to my current role and stage here. I believe that everything serves a…

God Big
Hi there dreamers and Happy November! I have this superb, excited, overjoyed, and just grateful energy right now. This post is titled Godbig because I want us all to go after those extremely grand and large dreams that God instills in us. I’ve decided to share one of my recent journal entries with you to further elaborate and explain… Journal Entry from Saturday, October 30, 2021 OMG…I can’t stop crying today and it’s not sad tears at all. It’s happy praise-God tears. Its tears of joy, excitement, and amazement at his miracle-working power and how He manifests things in His time frame and today I got to get a glimpse…

Black Dreams Matter
Ciggy Chats #BlackDreamsMatter It saddens me that in 2020 I have to write a post titled “Black Dreams Matter” but in light of what’s going on in the world, there was no way I couldn’t write this. The recent injustices and murders that have happened towards black people are far from new and have been happening for way too long… Honestly, it’s really difficult to even write this post right now… there are so many different feelings running through my mind of being shocked, sad, upset, angry, confused, hurt, nervous, anxious, and even hopeful. Hopeful seems like it doesn’t belong in the mix of words I just used, however,…

Grace & Gratitude
Hey there fellow dreamers! I couldn’t let April come and go without me sharing an update. This past month was a lot, if I am honest with you, and there were so many different emotions I was going through…I promise you it was an emotional roller coaster. In my last post I discussed decisions and particularly choosing to stay positive and strong in my faith as my mom just went in the hospital last month and was on a ventilator. I am happy to say that she is now home and improving little by little which is truly a blessing. It was a journey to get to this feeling. She…

Decisions: How to Choose & Its Impact
Hi there dreamers, Believe it or not I started this post at the beginning of the month and I am just now getting to finish it. It was going to start with me highlighting this bible study I read that seemed relevant to my topic at hand: “A few years ago I did this women’s bible study entitled “The Best Yes” by Lysa Terkeurst. It was a great study and I remember enjoying it at the time.” and then I was going to discuss the big choice or decision I had to make at the time: “However this month I had to make a choice a decision if you will…

Happy New Year!!
Hi Fellow Dreamers!! Pardon the late post but I did want to say Happy New Year to my readers and fellow dreamers! This New Year has been an interesting one. I feel as if I have a God-peace within me right now though there are quite a few things up in the air that would normally make me a freaked out Ciggy! I haven’t quite made real resolutions yet but there are a few goals and things I am hoping for in 2020: Spending time with God more: I am a Christian and honestly need to make sure that I am connecting with Him on the daily and often to…

Happy September!
Hi there fellow dreamers! It has been a moment since I caught up with y’all…actually over a month. This past month has been quite restful, productive and transformative. For those that follow you may know that I am also “Rena in Reslife.” Well nearly 4 months ago I transitioned my career and though I am still “Rena in Reslife” it is a completely different setting. In my previous role August would be one of my busiest seasons where as this past August I actually started the month off with a vacation! It was great and surreal. I took a much needed girls trip on a cruise to the Bahamas! It…

Living Now
Hey Y’all! It’s been a minute since I wrote to you and let me just say that time is flying by…I can’t believe it is already July! Happy New month and early 4th of July to everyone! These past couple of months I have been experiencing a lot of newness in my life and transitions. In all of this I am learning to enjoy the life I have while still going after the one I dream of. You might ask what does that even mean? For me, it is not just living in the future for my dreams, but actually living in the present right now. In all honesty, I have…

16 Days to Christmas
This past weekend I was able to give a quick pre-Christmas surprise to my family in the form of a visit. Being over 1500 miles away it felt good to be able to see my family if only for a moment. I happened to be on that side of the world due to a work-related conference hosted at my alma mater Rutgers University! Though the conference was clearly focused on student affairs, the themes of reflect, reimagine, and reach had some strong personal meaning for me. The keynote speaker Dra. Aurora Chang was great and spoke about the importance of telling your story. This idea that you should share…
